Progress thus far:

Within the past week JT and I went to Home Depot to scope out materials.  We eventually bought the wood we needed to create the wood core for the ski.  While we were at the department store we were also looking for materials to use as a base of the ski. We have now learned that acquiring real base material for the ski would be to costly.  We are looking for metal sheeting to use possibly for an alternative for the base.  We are also currently looking for any alternatives for the materials for the ski because they all seem to be out of our price range.  We are also on a tight budget because we need to be able to afford materials to assemble a ski press which will, in the end, press all the materials together, creating the shape of the ski.

  1. Wow this is a really cool idea, making your own skis seems really tough. I hope you can find something within your price range to use because it seems like an expensive process.
